Times have changed so much. The lack of a northbridge is a strange departure and considering that almost all the electronics that used to comprise of nearly 75% of the board are now integrated on the CPU die. Just thinking how pentium 3 and pentium 4 were radical jumps in cache integration for 90nm and the jump from 65nm core 2 duo to 32nm core i series meant the near elimination of the north bridge. Now the Northbridge is no longer on the system and the GPU is now on die. The 22nm Node definitely is going to herald a new jump in many new technologies.
